Barrick Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is Walkerton's first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school. Owner Charles Kulp has been a state certified law enforcement instructor for the last 13 years with over 1650 hours of instruction in physical tactics, active shooter response, emergency vehicle operations, basic life support, and general studies. With five years training in Jiu-Jitsu, Charles is currently ranked as a purple belt under Bryan Barrick. Bryan owns Barrick Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Goshen, IN and has been teaching the martial art in the Elkhart County area since 1998, shortly after conducting the first tournament in Northern Indiana. Bryan is currently ranked as a 3rd degree black belt under Ricardo Diogo. Ricardo Diogo, also known as “Rey” Diogo was one of the first Carlson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu team representatives to come to the United States and establish his own academy based on his master’s teaching.

  Brazilian jiu-jitsu, or BJJ, is one of the fastest growing martial arts in the world. It is a fantastic and ENJOYABLE full body workout that will turn you into a more confident and healthier individual. Jiu-jitsu is the single most enjoyable workout there is! It is constantly engaging and always full of fun and challenging movements. Never again will you have to spend time on mindless and repetitive workouts like running, weightlifting, or swimming. While these are still great options to stay healthy, if you can find an activity you enjoy, it will be easier to stay consistent and reach your goals.  BJJ is also unique because it will help you achieve a multitude of fitness goals!
